A charter bus journey to New Orleans, Louisiana

April 27th, 2007

I’ve been to New Orleans Louisiana once when I was a kid and all I could remember was boring rides and “are we there yets.” Last summer I got to take a charter bus holiday with my husband, kids and friends. This time around to New Orleans I had a great time and didn’t even have to hit up the French Corridor and Bourbon Street. I strongly recommend New Orleans charter bus service as a family getaway.

There are many unique attractions in New Orleans, one being the Musee Conti Wax Museum that presents the history of New Orleans in an extremely unique way. The wax museum tells everyone a fascinating story about New Orleans from its beginning until present day. A must-see charter bus attraction in New Orleans.  For those who love to gamble should make a charter bus stop at Harrah’s Casino which was voted ‘Best Casino’ by Casino Player. Harrah’s casino is unique because it is perched, like, at the edge of Mississippi River. Just step outside and there you have it, quite an enchanting view.

Another unique charter bus experience was when the charter bus driver took us for the Royal Carriages ride. It’s uniquely New Orleans and you can’t find these types of things anywhere else in the country. The quaint little mule will drag the carriages past many New Orleans landmarks and historical sites! Highly amusing for the kids also. If you know your Geography, you’ll know that New Orleans is literally swamp land – and that’s what special about it. take the charter bus for one of its swamp tours and let nature surround and embrace you while you tour the New Orleans swamps. I recommend the Honey Island Swamp Tours, Jean Lafitte Swamp Tours and the Westwego Swamp Adventures! I promise you the kids will be thrilled with the rides.

Cajun Cabin, one of New Orleans best-selling restaurants is the perfect place to take the charter bus to for some people-watching. And they provide free dance lessons too – frankly, with good food and reasonable pricing added to it, it’s a hard-to-beat deal, don’t you agree?

A family-friendly charter bus holiday in Baton Rouge

April 27th, 2007

Although Baton Rouge is not the kind of International tourist attraction that brings in an influx of tourists every day of the year you will be sure to fall in love with Baton Rouge if you take a charter bus holiday there with your family and friends. From museums to shopping centers, from breathtaking parks to awesome scenery there’s something for everyone there. For example, there’s the Blue Bayou Water Park which has lots of things suitable for kids and adults alike. My kids tried to go for all the rides and activities they had there on our charter bus stop – and yet, it wasn’t enough.

If you’re looking for something completely jaw-dropping for your charter bus holiday in Baton Rouge, try taking the charter bus to USS KIDD! Kid you not, this is where you get to roam and explore a WWII Fletcher-class destroyer! The place has a great very family orientated atmosphere.

The family stopped the charter bus at Baton Rouge Zoo for the kids to mingle around with the wild animals and we also stopped the bus at the Louisiana State Capital for some photo ops. But what surprised us during this charter bus trip to Baton Rouge is our stop at Louisiana Mud Painting Gallery! I bought a couple of original artwork from Henry Neubig – one for my mother and the other for my own home.

Although the kids begged for fast food throughout the charter bus trip in Baton Rouge, I have something to recommend where food is concerned. There’s this cool restaurant called The Melting Pot where the food is mouth-watering, the atmosphere is simple but cozy, the price is affordable and the staff was simply too good to be true!

So, don’t wait, if you’re looking for a place for a charter bus holiday with the whole family, head on out to Baton Rouge!

The only way to enjoy Wichita is by charter bus

April 26th, 2007

Many people envision Wichita to be a place they can retire to and not somewhere they would take a charter bus holiday to – but you’ll be surprised with the number of top charter bus attractions that Wichita holds for tourists. My charter bus weekend getaway got off to a good start with the first place our group took the charter bus to was the Exploration Place.
If you have kids on your charter bus trip, remember to take the youngsters to Sedgwick County Zoo which showcases more than 2,500 animals up close and personal. It’s not Kansas’s top family outdoor attraction for nothing!
What was surprisingly unique was the experience I had at the Old Cowtown Museum. It’s the place you get to see Wichita’s place in history.   You should ask the charter bus driver to take you to this amazing Wichita attraction to enjoy the covered wagon rides, games, live music and dancing On this charter bus trip, our group went to Wichita Boathouse to see Jayhawk which is one of the three racing yachts. Lots of opportunities for picture-taking here and the kids will definitely have a ball at the Riverkids Water Sports Program. Oh, and you’ve not tasted pizza until you’ve taken the charter bus to this non-fancy Wichita restaurant called Fusion Pizza Inc! Awesome pizzas of all kinds…want to try what Oriental pizzas? Head on over in your Wichita charter bus and I promise you you’ll have a great meal and a good time!

Charter Bus Business Trip In Houston

April 26th, 2007

Houston is the fourth largest city in the US, and home to 1.9 million people. It is also a great center for business which is why our company chose Houston as our annual meet and greet with other offices across the country. When our branch chose to charter a bus in Houston to see the sights and get us from meeting to meeting, I couldn’t have been more relived. There is nothing I wanted less than to travel around in an unknown city in the 90 plus heat possibly getting lost.

After the meetings for the day were over we were able to tell the Houston charter bus driver what locations we would want to visit. You may think it is a western desert city however you may be pleasantly surprised at the lush green landscape. We told the driver first to take us to a revitalized downtown. This is the spot for dozens of restaurants, clubs, galleries, and retail shops along with the well-respected Theater District and the new Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros. Downtown visitors can stay in a boutique hotel like the Lancaster in the heart of the Theater District or in one of the many major hotels like the Hyatt Regency, Doubletree Hotel, or the new Hilton Americas-Houston. And until the city’s new light rail line is completed in 2004, visitors can use the extensive trolley system to get around downtown.

Next day we took the charter bus to tour of The Reliant Astrodome, the world’s first domed stadium. It is still an architectural and engineering marvel. But it now sits next to the city’s next great wonder–Reliant Stadium. The 69,500-seat, retractable-roof stadium, is home to the Texans NFL team.

Although none of us had kids we would still like to have visited Six Flags AstroWorld and WaterWorld. The theme parks draw millions of visitors annually. But AstroWorld and WaterWorld share the spotlight with several other major attractions. Splashtown is the biggest water park in Texas and offers hours of cool fun in the summer months.

The Museum District, within walking distance of Hermann Park, gives visitors a taste of Houston’s impressive cultural scene. The city is home to more than 500 cultural, visual, and performing arts organizations, including The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the Houston Museum of Natural Science; the Children’s Museum of Houston; the Menil Collection; and the Contemporary Arts Museum. It was at this point that we individually picked and chose which sights to see. We almost needed another charter bus rental trip in Houston to see all the sights

Des Moines, Iowa charming and friendly charter bus destination

April 25th, 2007

It took a charter bus holiday with a group of friends to realize how charming and friendly a place Des Moines Iowa really is. I say this because I’ve always wanted to visit San Francisco but never considered Des Moines as a primary charter bus holiday destinations. But since one of my friends wanted to visit her family there, so, I thought ‘why not?’ To make our lives a little easier, we decided to rent a charter bus for it.

The Des Moines Botanical Center was an excellent place for us to spend the time strolling among flowers, birds, butterflies and greeneries. The charter bus hung around patiently while we lingered on half a day in Des Moines Botanical Center. We also took the charter bus to the Iowa State Fairground located within Des Moines where there were concerts, horse and dog shows and plenty of activities going on in the 400 acre tourist-magnet.

Heritage Carousel is another charter bus stop that I won’t forget about Des Moines. There’s a kid in every one of us, so, for us to get to ride this carousel which has been around since the 1930’s was pretty cool. It was even handcrafted and painted

Another good memory I took home with me about Des Moines after this charter bus ended was this wonderful and authentic Vietnamese and Chinese restaurant called ‘A Dong’. The best way to get in this building is to park in back and go in the back entrance. The food is authentic and very well prepared.

I was very impressed with our choice to visit Des Moines on a charter bus. Maybe next year we will think of another less obvious choice for our vacation.

Charter bus trip in Indianapolis Indiana

April 24th, 2007

Last summer, our local elks club got the privilege of having a charter bus holiday in Indianapolis Indiana for a couple of days. I am always known as a speed demon, the first place in Indianapolis that we took the charter bus to was Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Hall of Fame Museum. I felt like a kid in Disneyland and got to see the world’s most famous cars dating as far back as 1909. Awesome is an understatement. That was the highlight of my Indianapolis charter bus holiday but there were many other places that stole my heart.

White river state park of Indianapolis was cool too – I didn’t intentionally go to this Indianapolis attraction but the charter bus driver thought that everyone who comes to Indianapolis should at least stop by. It was amazing to just walk along the Canal Walk This turned out to be a magnificent Indianapolis charter bus stop, so, be sure to make your way there if you’re ever in Indianapolis.

At night, stop the charter bus at a nice Indianapolis Jazz spot called Chatterbox for nice music, relaxing atmosphere and of course, a cocktail menu that is seemingly endless. For good food, stop the charter bus at this quaint little place called Oceanaire Seafood Room that serves the best seafood in the Midwest I should also mention that the staff there is delightfully helpful. If you are having trouble selecting your food, just ask one of the waiters or waitresses – they’ll go all out to help you decide on the right choice of food to eat. Overall our Indianapolis Charter Bus rental trip went so well that they are putting me in charge of planning next year’s trip.

Rockford Illinois, experience Midwest hospitality on a charter bus

April 23rd, 2007

It wasn’t the number of charter bus attractions in Rockford that made me enjoy this place so much.  It was, rather, the unique, warm, and robust atmosphere that truly made my family appreciate this stop on our way to Chicago for a vacation.
For instance, I fell in love with Rockford’s Anderson Japanese Gardens, and our family enjoyed our relaxing walks around the gardens. The guides were friendly and helpful even though I kept asking them about the gardens and types of flowers consistently! The sheer non-existence of Rockford traffic noise from the outside affords you a peaceful walk with nature.
For some putting, go to the Elliot Golf Course by charter bus where we had the annual Thompson putt putt golf tourney. Don’t be fooled into thinking that the course is easy. Some parts of the Rockford golf course will challenge even the best of you.

Another good recommendation for those planning a family charter bus holiday to Rockford Illinois – you’ll just have to take the kids to Trailside Equestrian Center at Lockwood Park! This is the best charter bus destination for some fun in the sun where the place is immaculately clean. For music lovers, take the charter bus to Starlight Theatre at Rock Valley College. This is Rockford’s oldest outdoor stadium where there is constant live performances to enjoy. I loved the bands that performed there – by the time I headed back up to the charter bus, the songs were just ringing off in my head.

Overall, my family and I had a great time in Rockford. Althought the city might be overshadowed by its large neighbor to the east, a Rockford charter bus rental was truly memorable for us.
