Is Everything Really Bigger In Texas?
August 31st, 2010Some say that the best thing about Texas is the barbecue. Others appreciate the fact that they can still sport their bermudas in January. Wide open spaces, fantastic music, and an endless array of historical sites and monuments are just some of the reasons Texans can boast about their state.
Another reason is the State Fair of Texas. Everybody knows that The Lone Star State does things big and the State Fair of Texas is no exception. Held annually, the State Fair of Texas is located in Dallas. From September 24th through October 17th the fair will be the state’s main attraction and around 3 million attendees are expected. Locals know – the fair is THE place to be for anyone interested in live music performances, auto shows, Broadway productions (Shrek the Musical is playing this year), and the best southern food around (Yes, barbecue! But don’t forget about the fried margaritas). General admission is $15 with discounted rates for children and seniors. Self parking and valet parking are both available for a fee. If traveling with a group check out the BusBank’s Charter Bus Texas for exceptional shuttle service.
If you really want to determine why the State Fair of Texas is the be-all and end-all for state fairs, then you’ll probably just have to find out for yourself. So grab a group of people, check “Renting Bus
” of your to-do list, get to Texas, check out the music, live-acts, auto show, and try the barbecue. Or the fried margaritas. Or both.
