Hitting Gold with a charter bus trip to Fairbanks
May 21st, 2007Who would’ve thought we would hit gold by taking a charter bus to Fairbanks, Alaska. As you peek out of the charter bus window, you might be inclined to think that this is your typical urban city lined with fast food joints and watering holes.As modernized as Fairbanks is, there’s a very deep history of gold mining in Fairbanks, so, renting a charter bus there is a definite must do. Once you’re there, ask the charter bus driver to take you to the University of Alaska Museum where you’ll get an eyeful of the blinding collection of gold and discover the history of gold-mining in Fairbanks.
Oh, another amazing thing we did in Fairbanks was take the charter bus for the long-running tour called the Riverbank Discovery Tours. The experience was awesome as we sat in a real stern wheel riverboat for a 3 hour plus river ride that was both stimulating. We still had a little bit of time after the Riverbank Discovery Tours, so, we took the rented charter bus to Gold Dredge No. 8, the authentic gold-mining site an-hour-and-a-half tour where we learned everything we wanted to learn about gold mining.
As the day came to a close, we were finally tired enough to call it a day and took the Fairbanks, Alaska charter bus back to Chena Hot Springs where we were staying. Oh, the hotel was beautiful and absolutely clean as a whistle.
All in all, the trip to Fairbanks was an enlightening one sprinkled with a lot of excitement and awe. A Fairbanks Bus rental from The BusBank certainly made my trip easier and enjoyable!
