Des Moines, Iowa charming and friendly charter bus destination
April 25th, 2007It took a charter bus holiday with a group of friends to realize how charming and friendly a place Des Moines Iowa really is. I say this because I’ve always wanted to visit San Francisco but never considered Des Moines as a primary charter bus holiday destinations. But since one of my friends wanted to visit her family there, so, I thought ‘why not?’ To make our lives a little easier, we decided to rent a charter bus for it.
The Des Moines Botanical Center was an excellent place for us to spend the time strolling among flowers, birds, butterflies and greeneries. The charter bus hung around patiently while we lingered on half a day in Des Moines Botanical Center. We also took the charter bus to the Iowa State Fairground located within Des Moines where there were concerts, horse and dog shows and plenty of activities going on in the 400 acre tourist-magnet.
Heritage Carousel is another charter bus stop that I won’t forget about Des Moines. There’s a kid in every one of us, so, for us to get to ride this carousel which has been around since the 1930’s was pretty cool. It was even handcrafted and painted
Another good memory I took home with me about Des Moines after this charter bus ended was this wonderful and authentic Vietnamese and Chinese restaurant called ‘A Dong’. The best way to get in this building is to park in back and go in the back entrance. The food is authentic and very well prepared.
I was very impressed with our choice to visit Des Moines on a charter bus. Maybe next year we will think of another less obvious choice for our vacation.
